The Silver Moon Race is designed to be a lap race where participants do as many laps as possible in the race time of their choice. Either doing it solo or in a 4-person team relay.

Below you will find details of the course including a course map, elevation profile, and details to help you prepare for an amazing race.

The race consists of a 2.5-mile lap course where runners will do as many laps as possible in the time of 6, 12, or 24-hours. 12K runners will complete 3-laps. 100-mile runners will complete 40-laps.

Those coming into the finish line with 20-minutes or less of the cutoff time of their race category will need to stop and finish. If more than 20-minutes they can continue for a final lap. It’s okay if you go over the category time.

The 100-mile race participants will need to complete 40-laps of the 2.5-mile course before 30-hours.

They must reach 85-miles (34-laps) by the 24-hour point to be allowed to continue for an additional 6-hours and complete 100-miles by 30-hours.

All 100-mile finishers receive a 100-mile buckle in addition to the finisher medal.

The course is all dirt farm road from a hard-packed surface that is great for gaining speed to sections with soft soil to lightly packed dirt. Providing excellent conditions for running lots of laps. Trail shoes are recommended.

The 2.5-mile lap is 2.51 miles. Every 10-laps will add 0.1 miles to the total distance (ie. 10-laps = 25.1 miles).

The new course is even flatter than the previous course, the only real elevation is at the creek bridge crossing which has a very small slope that doesn’t even show up on the elevation profile.

As runners complete each lap they are required to stop at the race leaderboards and mark off the lap they just completed before starting the next lap to track progress throughout the race. Leaderboard progress is self-managed by the runners in addition to chip tracking for final results posted after the race.

At the lap checkpoint, we will have a fully stocked station to help runners refuel. In addition to the standard flow of water, gels, electrolytes, salt capsules, there will be a constant rotation of salty and sweet snacks, bars, pickles, PBJ’s, hot foods through the night, local farm-fresh fruit and frozen popsicles during the day on Sunday, plus we will serve dinner on Saturday night after the race has started, breakfast Sunday morning, and lunch on Sunday to help keep you going strong to finish the amazing Silver Moon Race.

For those who are not camping along the course for easy access to their items, there will be a designated drop bag area that you can place a bag or cooler to quickly access as needed when coming through the checkpoint lap. While volunteers will always be overseeing the drop bag area, please do not leave important valuables in your bags, we are not responsible for missing items.

The team relay option allows 4-runners to team up and attempt to complete as many laps as possible as a team in the 6, 12, 24-hours or the 100-mile race.

Team members take turns alternating through laps or time periods, thus reducing the total laps per person which “technically” should allow each “rested” person to keep a faster lap pace.

Teams can choose to rotate through each lap or choose to split up the overall time evenly. For example, if running the 12-hour race, each team member would run for approximately 3 hours.

      REGISTER FOR TEAM RELAY

Disclaimer: Please note that race information here represents what is planned for the Silver Moon Race.
